Another Turkey Trot in the books! This was the 8th consecutive year that I completed the St. Petersburg Turkey Trot over in Clearwater. The race is an institution in the Tampa Bay Area, and is just getting bigger by the year!
I even had some great company this morning!
The Turkey Trot is always so much fun, because all kinds of people come out. There are families, seasoned runners, and people just looking to get a jump start on their calorie count for the day
There were a lot of festive runners out this morning, showing off their Thanksgiving pride!
Cardiovascularly, I felt great. I wasn’t huffing and puffing at all. My legs just felt like lead! My guess it was due to a certain 13.1 miles I ran 4 days ago. No worries – I was happy with my time, rounding out the 10k in 45:19. The top 100 finished all receive a coffee mug for placing well in the race. The first year I ran it, we were given bobble head turkeys instead. Hooray for mug number 7! My collection sure is growing!
Good enough for the 33rd woman to cross the line. I’ll take it
After the race, Marcus and I headed to Einstein bagels for our yearly tradition of a post race coffee! My sister, Emily and I, started this tradition years and years ago, and we had to keep it alive although she isn’t in town this year for the holiday. I had to drink it out of my awesome new mug!
Now off to a super yummy dinner! I can hear the gobs of turkey calling my name!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The miami turkey trot is huge…but not nearly as fun as that! people here think they are too cool for costumes!
don’t forget to enter all those miles as points in the bootie buster challenge!
Sounds like they need a lesson in how to have some fun
