There is one thing I love about going on vacation – ya know, other than the food, relaxation, and not being on a firm schedule – running in a new place!
When we got in on Friday to Sarasota, we quickly checked in, and then changed for our run. I think the Ritz was ready for us, because look what they had for us to reference:
A nice map with all of the mileage for anyone looking to go for a 1 mile run, all the way up to an 8 mile run! I was pretty excited about this. Any place that tailors your stay to being active and healthy is a big win in my book. We decided to head out for 5 easy miles, and really enjoyed the scenery along the way. We had to run over a big bridge (twice!)
It really wasn’t bad (I have been regularly running hills), and we got quite a view from up there!
I’ll take it. Then we headed down through St. Armand’s Circle, ran around a bit, and headed back towards the hotel. For those of you not familiar with Sarasota, St. Armand’s Circle is an upscale shopping and dining and area. It is very fun to visit and walk around/people watch. Always a crowd favorite.
I always feel so lucky to be married to someone who likes to be active, and runs as well. Having a running partner in new and different places makes the run so much more fun, and I also don’t feel guilty getting out for 45 minutes for a sweat session. Thanks for always being such a trooper Marcus
And the biggest surprise of our fun run? The Ritz was definitely ready for us! They had a nice setup for anyone out exercising, with water, towels, and a few tips on staying hydrated and safe in the area.
I was so tickled by this (I guess it doesn’t take much)! Hotels that go above and beyond for their guests looking to stay active on vacation really set themselves apart.
