My whirlwind time in LA is over! I did a little sight seeing, ate some great food, and helped to put on a kick ass conference! It was incredibly successful, and I am glad I can say its over. Why am I looking forward to leaving California? I’m off to a certain race…

Yep, I’m Nashville bound for the Country Music Marathon! I have been waiting 18 weeks for this race, and I am beyond excited, even if I had a bit of a wrench thrown in my plans yesterday….
This was about all I had yesterday. I was sick in bed from about 11am on. Not my idea of a pre race strategy. I’m feeling considerably better today, and I am really looking forward to a real meal. Hopefully LAX has something I can nosh on this morning
With my normal race week ritual thrown out the window, I am focusing on a few key things the next few days:
- Hydrating very very well. It looks like temps are going to climb into the 80′s. Luckily living in Florida, I am somewhat prepared for the heat. Somewhat being the key word.
- Get good sleep! I actually was able to get a lot of rest in LA, and I plan to stretch that into the next couple of days.
- Keep Calm! At this point, there is nothing more I can do for my race on Saturday. I have to trust my training and not stress over having issues with this cold the last day. I’ve worked far too hard in my training to let it go now.
Nashville here I come. I’m ready to kill 26.2!!

Good luck!!!
Good luck, can’t wait to hear about it! Hope you are feeling better
Good luck!! And I’m glad to read that you had a conference before your 26.2, I have a conference in june before my 13.1!
Boo getting sick!! I can’t wait to race!! See you there!
