Remember last month when I mentioned that sometimes, ya just have to give a little, whether referring to a compliment, a helping hand, or just your time? Well tomorrow I am doing just that! Marcus and I are headed to Haines City to volunteer for the day at Ironman Florida 70.3!
After running race after race, I am always so unbelievably thankful for the volunteers after each and every one. They really make the experience so much better with their dedication and hard work at the event. Now it is my turn to give back a bit! Since I am signed up to race a triathlon in July, why not get a taste of everything a little early, and on a really big scale! A half-ironman is a huge deal, and a lot of dedication goes into the race by all of the athletes – I am thrilled to see a half-ironman in action. I volunteered 2 years ago at the St. Anthony’s Triathlon athlete check-in, but I didn’t actually go to the race. I am sooo excited to see what the fuss is all about!
Not to mention Lance Armstrong will be racing! It will be pretty cool to see him in action!
Now we are off to do a little swimming of our own with our favorite little pup! Happy Saturday!!
Have you ever volunteered at a triathlon? Any hints or suggestions?

Wow that will be so much fun – maybe you’ll get to see Lance up close! Today I was racing a half marathon and I was thinking about how I should volunteer at a race…volunteers make SUCH a difference on a course – I think it would be good race karma.
We did see him up close! It was awesome!
